Showcase (verb): to exhibit, especially in an attractive or favorable aspect.
I am a software developer. Some of you may recognize me as the creator of Evidentia. As a software developer, I know how much effort and heart goes into developing a software program. I know that each developer approaches a problem with a unique perspective, and designs their solution based on that perspective.
I am not a critic. I may from time to time point out why a certain software feature doesn’t work for me, but I am fully aware that what doesn’t work for me might work for you.
The Genealogy Software Showcase is not a review. There will be no rankings, and I won’t be trying to point out all of a program’s flaws.
The Genealogy Software Showcase is not a tutorial. We will do a brief walk-thru of each program we crack open. The goal is to showcase what each software program has to offer. This way you can decide if the software fits with the way you choose to do genealogy.
In some episodes, we will do side by side comparisons of similar features, like charts, or website generators. In other episodes, we will highlight one specific feature that you might find helpful.
So let’s have some fun!
